No, not me(!!) but the bookshop's open, and (and yes, it's still at Amazon- I'm looking at alternatives, but for now, this is where the hundreds of listings are) I've got books! Including, if you're home-schooling, or want books for a pre-school/daycare/after school program, Usborne home-schooling books, as well as out-of-prints, reference, and odd finds you might not see elsewhere.
EnjoyIt! books. If you want special shipping, be sure you mark that at the time of order. I can't change that internally (though I don't know why not, but I can't).
Thanks for all the support you've all given this last year. And believe me, that there's internal work going on in the Amazon Associates boards about #amazonfail- we don't like it either! So, I understand if you've written Amazon off- but if you haven't, please take a peek at what's on offer. (And if you have, but you see something you'd like, let me know by PM here. I'm not above selling off-list.)

As much as I didn't want to do this quite yet, I find that the twin deadlines of Graduation Day and Leaving for Europe are coming more quickly than I'm prepared for.
So it is with some sorrow and a bit of relief that I'm putting EnjoyIt on vacation.
If there's something you know you wanted, let me know- Everything will be there when I get back, and I'll be re-opening it while I find someplace else to list my books. If there's something you REALLY wanted soon, PM me here, and we can work it out.
I have really enjoyed this project, and am so very very appreciative of all of you who commented, supported, advertised, helped with problem-solving, donated, and of course, BOUGHT BOOKS!
Blessings on your heads.

The good news: my Facebook Cause, International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons is gaining members. You can be one!
The Happiness Project.
I managed to get the car to the mechanic's without its either blowing up or falling to pieces on the freeway. We'll find out what we find out, eh? It's an '88 Volvo wagon- I'm sure it's got a few miles left on it, if it can just find them.
Ah, what the hell. It's all good news, isn't it? The only thing is, I won't be seeing Star Trek today at 1:30, so that's $8.00 I'm considering donated to the cause of Hunter Urban's college fund. Just something to look forward to then, innit? Bones McCoy, I'm on my way.
Alrighty then. Since I can't ship any books, go to Star Trek, or stay up any longer, and I am graduating AND raising money for my Cause, I think I'll get some zzzzzs. Yay for nights off!
And blessings on your heads, y'all. Each and every one of you.

Yep, I'm graduating! have to pick up my cap&gown over at uni this week. If I remember I'll do it after work before my mammogram on Friday. *eyeroll* life of an older student.
EnjoyIt will go on vacation May 25th (last day I can ship) because I'm leaving for Europe May 26th! (London-Germany-Denmark-Germany-London) Home July 8th, back to work probably the 12th. Thank you every one who has bought or will buy, who has passed the word to friends and co-workers. It's been a real joy, becoming a book-seller, and it's made the difference between being able to pull off this trip nicely and have it be a grind and a worry.
Have started a WordPress Blog as a professional place to write; those of you who read along know that peace-work and despair-work are two lifetime interests/pursuits for me. My entire aim with pursuing my bachelors' has been to get the base for doing work in this area- yes, I know people do work in it without college degrees, but I want to change something in Nursing, open up a dialogue inside Nursing, so I thought I'd better get a bit more academic education in Nursing to give me some place to stand. It worked: I feel/AM better prepared to state my case. Now I'm making the place from which to speak. It's very satisfying.
Ok, I've a chance at an early bed this morning, and I'm going to take it. Blessings on your heads.

Speak Its Name has a call out for well-written Lesbian Historical Romance.
To further that cause, and in the name of getting the most bang for a buck I can, I'm posting this list of books that are for sale at EnjoyIt which might be useful for research, reading, or sharing. Some lesbian, some historical, some factual, some fiction, some seemingly odd until you realize they're snapshots of a period of time- but if (when? maybe) I attempt something in this vein, these will have been some of my references.
In regard to amazonfail: yes, my shop's an Amazon Associates shop. I'm looking at other places: Alibris.com, Biblio.com, but right now it's still all posted up at Amazon. I'm shipping until May 25th, then it goes on hiatus until mid-July.
To spare the FL, a cut before the list of books, which I hope tickle your imaginations and help produce glorious new works!( Read more... )

Have updated 100 of 528 listings (must do each one manually) to include 'ships internationally'. Will have to do the others tonight & tomorrow. If there's something you want, or someone you know wants, and it's not updated to 'international' yet, just PM me through Amazon or here, and I'll fix it so you can order.
Thanks so much. My books, movies, and CDs are so happy to be having new homes.

New & Used books, movies, and CDs. Selling my library & collection to find them new happy homes, and help finance my trip to Europe this summer.
For Earth Day, April 22nd: Merl Saunders - Blues From the Rainforest: A Musical Suite [DVD]
Life on Earth: A Natural History By David Attenborough
PlanetHood: The key to your survival and prosperity by Benjamin B. Ferencz (still apropos. The best ideas never lose their value.)
30 Days to a Simpler Life [Paperback] by Cris Evatt & Connie Cox
Conservation Medicine: Ecological Health in Practice [Hardcover]; Gary M. Tabor
The Emerald Forest [VHS] Powers Boothe, Meg Foster, Dira Paes, Charley Boorman
Planet Steward: Journal of Wildlife Sanctuary by Stephen Levine
The Earth Work Group: 30 Simple Energy Things You Can Do to Save the Earth (Still innovative!)
The terrace gardener's handbook: Raising plants on a balcony, terrace, rooftop, penthouse, or patio (Hardcover) by Linda Yang
Gardening ... Naturally by D. X. Fenten
Some of these books and movies have been staunch companions and reliable resources, others are new and innovative, and each of them is worthy of finding a new owner who can use them in current academic or applied work, or research.

So, by this time next year, all else being equal, I will have paid off my back taxes and get a refund. I will have at least consolidated my student loans and have a single payment. And I will have cleared out at least a third of my storage, which will be at the very least less of a psychic burden and possibly a continuing source of some income. This all from following, slowly, the nine-step program in Your Money or Your Life.
Which will put me closer to "Enough" on my fulfillment curve, and closer to my goal of Financial Intelligence, Financial Integrity, and Financial Independence.
*wild happy dance inserted here*
New listings here @EnjoyIt. I wish it would sort by category for you, and that I had images for all the books, but it doesn't, and I don't.
Important: IF you have ordered from me, or someone you know has ordered from me, and there has been ANY problem, please let me know via Amazon PM/Email. There are some odd things the site does, like re-listing already sold items (making up inventory, essentially) and listing new orders lower down in the order listings than filled listings (making it easy to miss new orders) which, the more I read in the seller discussion blogs, are neither new problems (though I was unaware of them) nor anything Amazon seems inclined to fix anytime soon (insert thinly veiled surprise here). I however AM a good seller. I make good on errors when I make them, and I do my absolute best to be sure you a) get what you ordered and b) if you are not happy to reach a happy outcome.

Verb Noire in Publisher's Weekly and other good things, including links to more good writers, and interesting comments. Watch these spaces, folks. There's real stuff happening here.
I won't bother to link to updates on Amazon, because it seems to change hourly: just say that they're restoring rankings for now, and there's buzz all over the Seller Discussion blogs, which seems to me very hopeful. Amazon's not just Amazon. It's a lot of little people like me, too, and some of us are here, queer (or queer-friendly) and we're not being quiet.
It's not the not-buying from Amazon that's going to change them. It's the writing to them and telling them why you're unhappy with them. It's the getting to know your local bookshops (if you're a ways out of town, your locals quite likely are online, and ship to you. See this post from jadelennox for more info and a good POV.
I took my books to my local bookshop- they bought what they wanted- and I might very well move to Alibris.com when I get back from Europe, but for now I've got GLBT, ethnic studies, women's studies, men's studies, history, feminism, poetry, politics, fiction, health, nursing, death&dying, pregnancy and birth, children's and young adult, home-schooling, psychology, philosophy, plays, and religion/spirituality. I'm a small local bookstall too, renting space in a big market named Amazon, selling my personal library so I can go to Europe and see my friends.
How cool is my housemate? They've just come back from 10 days helping her brother with a school field trip in Europe, and she brought me back her left-over Euro. I've got about 6 Euro now- that'll buy a bit of petrol. Not much, but a bit. *happy dance*
There's more, but I'm supposed to be sleeping, or at least keeping my head down except for staying hydrated and getting out from under this little lurking sinus infection. So I'm gonna slip in another disc of The West Wing (they run about 4 hours, and now that I'm getting to know them by heart, they're good soothing voices in the background that help me sleep) and lie down a bit longer.
Blessings on your heads, y'all. Keep on keeping on.

Yes, I'm very happy with the results of my little Amazon Associate reseller shop. Y'all have been just wonderful buying, recommending, and generally supporting my efforts, and I really appreciate it.
But on another hand, Amazon's a business, and it makes business decisions that have social ramifications and implications. Like This one, ref'd in Mark Probst's LJ here and in meta_writer here. Essentially, Amazon's excluding books with homosexual characters from its search index rankings.
Really. This oughta make ohnotheydidn't, the front page of the NYT, and every writer's radar.

So, y'all might or might not know I'm in a breakfast club with some neighbors/old friends. I was cook today. Up at four, mostly because I had slept all I could.
What I cooked: baby yukon gold potatoes, boiled, whole, with: scrambled eggs, tomatoes (sliced) on watercress (fresh), asparagus (steamed) with red bell pepper (raw, sliced thin), orange and grapefruit (fresh, sliced thin, oh so good!). Coffee, tea, juice. mmm. Served 14 people over 1 and a half hours. Fun.
Cleaned the kitchen as I went, counters and appliances and so on, because that's how I do.
Then I listed another box of books. Got orders ready, and went down to storage to pick up the ones that needed to be filled there. Took 37 parcels to the post office! and shipped. Got home and found out I'd made a shipping error last week. Hope to hell it's only a switch- if I made a sequential labeling error or packing error on a bunch of orders, I'm a) going to be really unhappy with myself and b) be making a lot of refunds/switches/apologies. I don't think I knew I was that tired, which concerns me. Usually I know when I'm so tired I'm not paying attention. Grr. Anyway. Only time will tell. I emailed the fellow I HOPE I switched on, and can only wait until he emails back. If I messed up your order, please let me know ASAP. I want you to be happy, and my books and movies to be in their proper new homes.
Cleaned out the car.
Did laundry.
Read poetry. Listened to Lawrence Ferlinghetti on Democracy Now! (and if anyone wants the podcast but can't get it, let me know, I'll send it to you!)
Listed four more boxes of books. (Good stuff, too. Check it out. I promise not to send you the wrong thing.)
Combed the cat, watered my tiny little garden.
Chatted with two close friends in IM for a few minutes. Missed catching another one for our anniversary today, will have to catch up soon.
Had a bath, and am now in bed. it's only 9pm but it feels like tomorrow, already. Hoping to sleep for a good 5 or 6 hours, anyway.
Sleeping with the cat, 'cause the housies are away this week.
Their once-a-month housekeeper's coming in the morning- still have stuff to put away before she comes, but.. it'll wait a few hours.
Lots of love, be well, be cared for, and blessings on your heads, y'all.

8 weeks (less) until graduation. eeps!
8 weeks and a day before I start traveling. yay!
thought i could pick up some overtime at work, but apparently not. so, must sell more books and music and movies. lol! I have no paid time off, no vacation or holiday time (agency doesn't give any- not that i'm spendthrift with it, i don't earn any!), so am selling as much to cover expenses while gone as to afford the trip.
( beneath the cut: cover (and sometimes illustration) scans of things I can't list on Amazon for one reason or another. Babies Board Books, YA novels that are long, long out of print, historical fiction that is long out of print. CDs not in Amazon's catalog. There may be magazines of Interest added to this list, so tag it, eh, if you collect magazines. ) So, you know. If you can help a girl out. Pass the word? Share my shop link with friends and family. If you're going to Amazon anyway, go in through my shop first, then to Search. That way, if you purchase something else on Amazon, I get referral bonuses.
Thanks for looking, sorry for the spam, am optimistic about your continuing ability to help me make this happen, and to find new homes for lovely books, movies, cds, and so on. And Blessings on your heads.

New listings at EnjoyIt: more movies, CDs, books. I've turned up a number of things that are not in Amazon's inventory: out-of-print children's books, young adult books, and adult books of all kinds: reference, non-fiction, fiction; and CDs. I'm going to scan those and post them here, in hopes that there'll be something you've been looking AGES for and this will re-unite you. PLEASE, if you would, when you to to Amazon, go in through my store: I get referral bonuses when you do, if you buy something there. And please, if you would, buy something from me (if there's something you want) or pass the news of my little store on to friends. It all helps. Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who's bought, advertised, or just said "yay!"
I think there're still anime/manga goodies at LoyalDreamer's place, so if you tend more that way, drop by and see what she's got.
Who knows? we might have those Mother's Day, Father's Day, Graduation... out-of-the-blue "Because I thought of you!" presents.
Otherwise, sleep has been at a real premium, for no single reason. I'm sure hoping to sleep today AND tonight, though. Yoga/stretching/physical therapy program continues apace: it must be working, because a) I notice when I'm sore (which is good) and the difference between that and achey (which is not so good).
FINALLY nearly finished with these two little papers for Critical Thinking. This is where sleep is so essential- I can work, I can chat, I can sell movies. But I can't write good papers without adequate sleep. *sigh* in two weeks I'll have the house to myself for two weeks. I'm hoping to have that time to finish these, get them to the prof, and do any changes he wants.
I know there've been some sad things happen this week in friends' and acquaintances lives. You are in my thoughts.
The rest of you, be well, have fun, and blessings on ALL your heads.

Here, I just listed The Hardy Boys Detective Handbook for my grandson. In case you need one. As well as The Delaney Sisters, Father-work for men, and A collection for the Centennial of British Columbia, complete with maps and illustrations.
